Safety Rules & Information

Safety Rules

1. Follow rink staff instructions at all times.
2. Be kind and polite to everyone. Pass other skaters with care.
3. Skate in an anti-clockwise direction.
4. Use the sides for support if needed.
5. Wear gloves and warm clothes. Tighten your boots properly.
6. Keep your clothes and items secure. We do not accept liability for loss of or damage to personal property that is not caused by us or our staff.
7. Do not skate in big groups or carry anyone while skating.
8. Only enter the ice with skates on. Do not sit or climb on the sides.
9. Do not use mobile phones or other electronic devices while skating.
10. Eat and drink in designated areas only. Smoking, vaping and skating under the influence of drugs or alcohol are strictly prohibited.
11. Do not litter or drop items on the ice. Use skating aids slowly and responsibly.
12. Consult your doctor before skating if you have a health condition.
13. The rink is not suitable for advanced or fast skating, tricks, or jumps.
14. Do not enter the ice or lean over the barrier during ice resurfacing.
15. Do not move barriers, cones or signs, and do not skate inside a cordoned-off area — they mark parts of the ice closed for safety or maintenance.

Important Information

• Speak with staff if you have questions, concerns, spot hazards, or sustain an injury.
• Do not act in a way that may cause injury to yourself or others. Non-compliance may result in removal without refund.
• Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied on the ice at all times by a responsible, ticket-holding adult.
• Children aged 9 to 12 must be supervised from the viewing area by a responsible adult, who must not leave the rink side or viewing area while they are on the ice.
• Children under 3 are not permitted on the ice.
• Wheelchair users and skaters who need support on the ice are welcome, provided they are accompanied by a companion. Please speak to staff before your session so we can help.
• Participation is at your own risk. Be aware of risks such as changing ice conditions, collisions, slips, trips, falls, and contact with obstacles. Consider if you can safely participate without endangering others or yourself.
• Anyone who is pregnant, has mobility issues, is taking prescribed drugs, has a high predisposition to injury (due to age, weight, or other factors), or has current or previous medical conditions — including cardiovascular or heart problems, recently broken bones, knee problems, joint problems, dislocations, or head injuries — should carefully consider whether it is safe for them to participate.
• Our staff may refuse access to the ice, or ask a skater to leave the ice, where they reasonably consider it unsafe for that person or for anyone else.
• Personal accident insurance is recommended. The Event Organiser's public liability insurance does not provide personal accident cover for participants.

Assumption of Risk

Ice skating carries inherent risks, and participation is at your own risk. By entering the ice rink or event, you acknowledge and accept those risks for yourself and for anyone in your care.

Nothing in these rules excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Emergency Procedures

• Exit by your nearest marked fire exit if the fire alarm sounds.
• Follow the instructions of marshals.
• Avoid blocking exits from the ice or marquee.
• Walk at a reasonable pace, but do not run.
• Do not return to skate hire or the rink until being informed it is safe to do so.

CCTV, Filming and Photography

Security and 24 hour CCTV cameras are utilised across the Event Area. Photography or filming by the Event Organiser or authorised third parties may be used for promotional purposes — please speak to staff if you would prefer not to appear. Permission is required to film or photograph professionally or for commercial gain.
